A non-profit initiative free for everyone, Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival is the only literary festival to have emerged from a bookstore – the nearly 100 year old iconic Oxford Bookstore. The 2018 edition from Jan 11- 15th brings speakers from Australia, UK, Scotland, France, Germany, Haiti and more to join eminent novelists, filmmakers, artists, poets, and social commentators in a heady mix of literature, arts and current affairs. For its 2018th edition, AKLF has collaborated with Edinburgh International Book Festival, Henley Literary Festival,Bonjour India and reaffirmed its link with the Jaipur Literature Festival through Oxford Bookstore Book Cover Prize. AKLF 2018 also presents a bigger and better Oxford Junior Literary Festival for young readers; a major new award for emerging women writers; India’s top poets at Poetry Café; and introduction of a B2B segment for students and young professionals on 15th titled ‘Mind Your Own Business’.
