The Bengal Badminton Academy in their relentless endeavor for growth of Badminton in the State have been able to Upgrade the Badminton Hall of Ordnance Club ,Hastings in to an International standard facility.
The previous wooden planked Badminton court has been replaced with International synthetic Badminton mat. Lighting also changed into International standard. The up gradation of Badminton Hall has been supported by Puskar Narayan Toshniwal Charitable Trust through Sri Manoj Toshniwal and Sreekumar Toshniwal, Trustees. The Upgraded Badminton Hall at Ordnance Club has been inaugurated today by Janab Syeed Ahmed Baba, IAS, Principal Secretary ,Sports and Youth Affairs ,Govt. Of West Bengal in presence of Sri Sutirtha Bhattacharya, IAS , Former Chairman, Coai India Ltd, Dr. Subrata Gupta, IAS, Sri Dileep Singh Mehta & Ordnance Club officials etc.
BBA kids and players participated in various Badminton related drills and exhibition matches in front of the dignitaries.
West Bengal it seeks to popularize the game among school children and encourage professional and amateur players of the State.
More than 300 trainees are being coached in 4 branches of the Academy. The Trust aims to create a permanent training facility of intertiational standard for the budding players of the State.
