A Unique Philanthropic Event Celebrating Womanhood On the occasion of International Women’s Day, they paid tribute to women chievers from different walks of life
On the occasion of ‘International Women’s Day’, Ganesh Grains has conducted a week long contest where women, from all over Kolkata have penned down their stories of struggles, on women breaking new ground, empowering communities and challenging stereotypes. Ganesh grains will felicitate the top three most inspiring stories amongst the shortlisted 50 participants from all over the India. Ganesh Grains will honor those women achievers from different walks of life, who have made a difference in society through their silent but magnanimous efforts. The event witnessed the esteemed presence of Ms. Agnimitra Paul, Ace Fashion Designer, Ms. Shrabari Dutta, Renowned Fashion Designer , Ms. Alokananda Roy, Well Known Danseuse & Social Activist, Ms. Rakhipurnima Dasgupta, Renowned Food Critic, Shamlu Dudeja, Mathematician & Artist , Nandini Mehtab, Social Activist along with Ms. Madhu Mimani, Director, Ganesh Grains Limited On Thursday, 15th March, 2018 at The Lalit Great Eastern.
March 8, celebrated as International Women’s Day to pay a tribute to the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Thus an ideal opportunity to celebrate the indomitable spirit of every woman who have made a difference in their life.The primary aim is to celebrate these lesser known stories in every woman’s life. To open up a contest, encouraging the women to pen down their stories of struggle.The stories which have become the change agents in their life. The focus of these stories could be on women breaking new ground, empowering communities and/or challenging stereotypes. In areas inclusive but not limited to, Economical, Social, Cultural, and Health and Environmental issues. The three women who were the winner of this grand contest were Pratima Poddar, Bus Driver, Runu Chowdhury, Cancer Survivor and Mohua Mukherjee who lost her kid at a very young age. They were courageous enough to share their struggle stories and their efforts were recognised by Ganesh Grains Limited.
