Sonar Sansar, the Largest Consumer Jewellery Show of East India hosts the 20 edition of “Woman of Substance Award” from Bengal.
One of its kind initiatives to honor the Women of Bengal from different walks of life who have contributed immensely in their field . The event witnessed presence of the esteemed jury members Mr. Barun Chanda, Veteran Actor . Smt Alokananda Roy, Dance Educationist and Social Worker; Shri. Pankel Parekh, Ex-Vice Chairman of GJEPC and Regional Chairman, IBGA, Shri. Gautam De, Regional Director, Indian Council for Cultural Relations and Shri Tarnal Kanti Mukherjee, renowned Advocate along with Ms. Parom. Ghosh. Mr. Samar Kumar De, Working President, SSBC and Mr. Subir Sen, President, SSBC were also present at the press conference. Mrs. Kranti Nagvekar, Managing Director, KNC Services was also there to address the media.

The Awardees finalized for ‘Sonar Sansar – Women of Substance 2018’ were in Sports professional Athlete Soma Biswas, well-known Bengali Author, Essayist and Critic Bani Basu in Literature, Swati Banenee in Public Service, Moupia Nandi in category of Media, in Films âDirection, Indian Actress Mamata Shankar in Films â Acting, Nayantara Pal Chowdhury in Entrepreneurs, Varda Goenka in the category of Jewellery Designer, renowned Designer Agnirnitra Paul in Fashion Designing, Urmi Basu in Social Wort, Theatre Artist Sohag Sen in the field of (Performing) All â Drama. a leading Manipuri Dancer Priti Patel in Dance, Bengali Musician and Exponent of Rabindra Sangeet Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta in Most category and Artist Veena Bhargava in Visual arts.
