Kuch Ansuni Kahaaniya” a pre cursor to the 8th edition of Aparajita: Saluting Womanhood, a platform that recognizes the ambition, determination and dreams of women leaders from across various fields in Bengal, was held recently at The Oberoi Grand. The session was graced by renowned fashion designers Sharbari Dutta, Eshaani Jayaswal & Vasundhara Mantri along with eminent personalities like Richa Sharma, Shukla Seal, Saachi Bhasin, Ms Ruchika Gupta, Curator, Aparajita and Dr. Sudipta Sengupta who is the one of the first women from India to set foot in Antarctica were also present on the occasion.This gathering encapsulated the journey which Aparajita has undertaken, together with their past winners and past and present nominees. That all present took a pledge to help at least one woman in a year feel like Aparajita.
Aparajita has always showcased the stories of exemplary women from Bengal who have created a benchmark in their respective fields. A journey which began in 2010, has always striven to recognize and present stories of real women achievers from all walks of life. Having presented a plethora of such inspiring tales through the years, the 8th edition of Aparajita is back yet again to celebrate the talent and uniqueness, embodied by the women of today.
“Kuch Ansuni Kahaaniya” the untold inspirational tales of real women from Bengal, highlighted the stories and challenges faced by the exemplary nominees of Aparajita who have created a benchmark in their respective fields. The session witnessed the presence of the nominees of Aparajita 2019 along with the past winners & nominees who shared their motivating journey and experiences of being an “Aparajita”. The session was all about the nominees of Aparajita, who are its biggest source of strength. These are women who have not only made a difference to society, but are also an inspiration for many. The aim & the entire focus of the session were on knowing them and their stories better. All the nominees present at the discussion took a pledge to help in the empowerment and skilling of at least one female a year.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms Ruchika Gupta, Curator, Aparajita said, “Aparajita is not just an award ceremony, but a frame of thought. It is a platform which recognizes empowering women and their stories of inspiration. We would like each and every woman to believe that they are and will always be unstoppable, they are Aparajitas and through their journey we want to communicate the same.”
Amongst these encounters of valor, was the story of a trailer blazer, the indomitable Sudipta Sengupta for their Nominees Meet & Greet, a pre cursor to the Grand Finale. She presented her experiences of life in Bengal, as a geology professor, her passion for travelling and her unequivocal determination to ultimately becoming one of the first Indian women to set foot in Antarctica.
The session concluded on positive thoughts and messages which will help every woman to lead any change with more conviction and confidence. It focused on the complex understandings of issues related to professional women and work, to acknowledge the journey that will help to increase self-knowledge about own values and vision.
Aparajita is a celebration of women who have the courage to follow their hearts. The grand ceremony of “Aparajita: Saluting Womanhood” is all set to take place on 15th March 2019 with talent and entertainment galore.
