Wing Commander Tarun Chaudhuri performed the first-ever wingsuit skydive jump from an India Air Force aircraft Mi-17 helicopter and he is the first IAF pilot to achieve the feat.
Indian Air Force made the announcement of this achievement by Commander Tarun Chaudhri in a series of tweets and they also released a video of the jump.
Commander Chaudhri performed the wingsuit jump during a Kargil Diwas celebrations in Jodhpur on July 21. This jump was accomplished from an altitude of 8500 feet.
Tarun Chaudhuri is the first-ever India Air Force pilot to attempt and succeed in a high altitude wingsuit jump from a Mi-17 aircraft which he also has flown and captained.
This was informed by IAF-“Chronicles of IAF Adventure: Wg Cdr Tarun Chaudhri SC achieved a milestone by accomplishing WINGSUIT SKYDIVE JUMP on 21 July 19. This is the First IAF Wing Suit Skydive Jump by a pilot who has flown and captained the same type of helicopter”.
“This was the first flying wingsuit jump demonstration at an organized gathering. The jump was undertaken during the Kargil Diwas celebrations at Air Force Station Jodhpur on 21-22 Jul 19,” IAF informs in a series of tweet about Commander Choudhuri’s glorious feat.
