Sanjiban Hospital is one of the Covid hospitals in the city who aims to combat the deadly coronavirus disease and protect the citizens during this unprecedented situation. A 41 years old woman from Jalapara, Paltagarh, Singur, Hooghly was admitted at Sanjiban Hospital with several complications, with severe respiratory distress with COVID positive on 13th May, 2021. After two months of struggle and fight with life the hospital has successfully treated the Critical Care Unit Covid patient and discharged her today.
More than 2 months the patient was on non ivasive mechanical ventilation her CT scan showed B/L extensive Pneumonia. Suffered from recurrent pneumothorax. Three times intercostal chest drain given. During hospitalization she has developed urosepsis and managed with broad spectrum antibiotics. Her main problem was extensive lung fibrosis and sepsis and severe ARDS for long hospitalization. With the help of all team members of Sanjiban Hospital Critical Care Unit she has fought back all the critical conditions and since the last 4-5 days she has no requirement of any oxygen support, so the hospital authority have decided to release her after months of her admission.
While addressing the Media Dr. Subhasis Mitra, Director, Sanjiban Hospital said, “It is always a satisfactory moment for the whole team of Sanjiban Hospital, since last year we have successfully treated more than thousands of Covid patients including critical patients. Our doctors never gave up on her even after so many complications she had. We are glad that she has responded to the treatment and returned home today.”
