ICC has organised a conference on Switchgear and Controller industry to put forward the problems the respective industry is facing and how best to cope with them and solve them properly. These issues are to be addressed by the government bodies and manufacturers to ensure an appropriate regulation.
Hon’ble Chief Guest of the conference Mr.Vivek Kumar Dewagan, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power, Government of India commented “Expectation of the consumers have increased post-pandemic as they want undisturbed power for the smooth running of necessary functions. We are slowly moving from fossil fuel too. India has set the target to become Net-Zero by the year 2070. Per capita emission of CO2 in India is much lesser than in other developed countries. Among the G20 countries, India has proved to be one of the torchbearers who have been trying to reduce carbon emissions. About the switch gears, it is very satisfactory to see India has become one of the leading manufacturers of switchgear and we intend to lend a supporting hand to the industry, ranging from setting up manufacturing units to investing in revamping the entire infrastructure. There is immense scope for shifting to smart switchgear too along with maintaining the sustainability.”
Dr. Rajeev Singh, Director General, ICC stresses, “Faster obsoleting of the products, detailed discussion about the modification of the products before any kind of modification to save manufacturers from the huge amount of loss.”
The focus was also on analysing the software standardization or open platform software to avoid complications. An environment-friendly replacement of SF6 gas is needed to replace it in due course of time to protect the earth.
