Publishers and Booksellers Guild organized city’s most awaited literary extravaganza ‘Kolkata Literature Festival’, fiesta of books, reading, stimulating talks, intellectual debates, music, and art. The 5th edition of the Kolkata Literature Festival was inaugurated by Noted Indian AuthorIndian legendary Author Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay along with Guild members Sudhangshu Dey, President, Publishers & Booksellers Guild; Shri Tridib Chatterjee, Honorary General Secretary, Publishers & Booksellers Guild and Smt Sujata Sen Director Kolkata Literature Festival. The three day literary extravaganza is scheduled from 8th February to 10th February, 2018 at Central Park Mela Ground.
Close to 65 literary moguls from across the globe descended to the city of Joy to enthrall Kolkattans. The first day of Kolkata Literature festival focused on sessions like ‘Cross Cultural Influences of Contemporary Literature ’ attended by Authors Abhijnan Roychowdhury, Chinmay Guha ,Philippe Forest , Antoine Volodine, Val McDermid moderated by Anjum Katyal.
The second session titled ‘Performing Poetry’ was attended by author Bob Holmam with Subodh Sarkarand Gary Dutta.
The third Session was very interesting titled Blogging your way to Bollywood: A Beginner’s Guide to become a celebrity Writer in the presence of Famous Celebrity Blogger and writer Miss Malini in conversation with Sundip Roy.
The first day ended with a Musical Performance by A passionate Singer with A Piano Man named ‘You and I’ by Sourendra and Soumyajit.
From theatre, to music, direction and the youth’s perspective – KLF is all about art, literature, drama and more. Many more gripping sessions by distinguished personalities is something to look out for at the KLF. It is the most sought after event in the literary world, promising to be a lifetime of an experience.
