National Conference Party Request An Assembly Election For J&K

Jammu & Kashmir party National Conference chairman and former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah had a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday to discuss the condition of J&K and about conducting an election before the year ends.
The National Conference delegates included party member and former chief minister Omar Abdullah and another party member and MP of Lok Sabha Hasnain Masoodi. The NC delegates had the meeting with PM Modi for only 20 minutes where they discussed the moderately better than the previous year condition of J&K and a request to hold an election to elect a government for J&K as J&K has been without any Chief Minister for about a year now.
Former chief minister Omar Abdullah said after the meeting that the meeting was to the satisfaction of both party and both let each other know about their own opinion on the matter.”We discussed two issues with the prime minister. We told him that no step should be taken which will lead to deterioration of the situation in the Kashmir Valley. We also told him that the assembly elections should be held before the end of the year,” Omar told the press.
Omar also told that the press that he told the PM that the condition of J&K has been improved with great difficulty and not to take any steps that may worsen the condition. “We discussed two issues with the prime minister. We told him that no step should be taken which will lead to deterioration of the situation in the Kashmir Valley. We also told him that the assembly elections should be held before the end of the year,” Omar told the press after the meeting.
Omar’s response to whether or not there has been talking about revoking Article 35 A is that when the party said not to take any step that meant no step like scrappingArticle 35 A or 370.
Omar said, “We requested him (Modi) that no precipitous steps of any sort should be taken that may result in a situation in the state, particularly the valley, worsening. We specifically asked him to let subjudice matters be settled by the courts & other matters be settled by an elected government”.
Later Omar Abdullah tweeted the happening of meeting to convey their version.
“Dr (Farooq) Abdullah Sb reminded the Hon PM that J&K has been without an elected government for well over a year now and requested him to take all necessary steps to facilitate the @ECISVEEP’s (Election Commission of India) conduct of assembly polls before the onset of winter,” he tweeted.
