BJP Leader Of Karnataka Yeddyurappa takes oath As Chief Minister

B.S Yeddyurappa, Karnataka state president of BJP took oath as Chief Minister of Karnataka for the fourth time.
Bookanakere Siddalingappa Yediyurappa in a surprise move on Friday claimed to form a government
after former JD(S)and Congress coalition government crumbled as 13 Congress and 3 JD(S) h resigned.
BJP Karnataka state leader Yediyurappa came forward to form a new government as former JD(S)
leader and CM of the state H.D.Kumaraswamy handed his resignation to Governor Vajubhai Vala.
Yediyurappa’s appointment as CM is unexpected as neither BJP has the majority in Karnataka state
Legislative Assembly nor was Yediyurappa formally elected by BJP MLAs in the Karnataka Assembly.
But Yediyurappa refuted allegation saying there was no need for formal selection as he was already
selected as the party leader of the state.
Congress, however, relayed sharp retaliation on Yediyurappa’s appointment as CM saying, “Corruption
Icon and Former Jail Bird Shri has used his excellent Horse Trading skills to subvert democracy and
come to power.”
Siddaramaia, former Chief Minister also condemned the formation of the BJP government in Karnataka
“Karnataka assembly has become an experimental lab for BJP & BJP backed governor to try
unconstitutional ways to form govt”.He also added, “In what article of the constitution is the governor
allowed to permit the party to form govt that doesn’t have majority?”.
Karnataka Congress accused, “Parliamentary democracy is being butchered in Karnataka” and
questioned the validity in the appointment of Yediyurappa as CM, “How can BJP stake claim to form
govt when they don’t have the numbers”.
They also questioned the center on the legality of the matter, “How can the Governor who is the safe
keeper of the constitution give his consent? Where is the Rule of LAW ! “.
BJP appointed CM of KarnatakaYediyurappa however faces the challenge ahead to win the trust vote on
Monday and prove the majority in the Assembly.
