Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, flag ship college of JIS Group, won the 3rd Prize in the Grand Finale of AICTE Chattra Vishwakarma Award 2020 on 5th September 2021 at AICTE, New Delhi. The Green Beam was awarded in the category “Promote Value Added Agricultural Processes, Products and Handicrafts” for presenting a prototype/ innovative solution of “Agryonova Automated Unmanned Inspection and Varied Irrigation System for Agricultural Fields” under the theme “India’s Economic Recovery Post Covid; Reverse Migration and Rehabilitation Plan to support “Atmanirbhar Bharat”.
The Green Beam comprised of Ms. Srishti Mandal, Ms. Purnasha Paul and Ms. Joyita Khan (students of Food Technology). The Team Mentor was Mrs. Shairee Ganguly of Food Technology Department. Their prototype was highly appreciated by the external Judges and they were awarded by Shri. Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of Education in the presence of Prof. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Hon’ble Chairman, AICTE.
The AICTE Vishwakarma Awards 2020 was organized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) on India’s Economic Recovery Post Covid. Reverse migration and rehabilitation plan to support “Atmanirbhar Bharat”. It aimed to provide a platform for students and teachers to look at the societal challenges, with an aim to provide innovative and low cost solutions to encourage the students to focus on hands on skills and also to foster convergence and collaboration so as to bring about sustainable solution to problems. Hence the Awards are aimed for motivating young individuals, inspiring leaders and institutions/ organizations to raise their performance in their specific domains leading to significant contribution towards the growth and development of the nation as a whole.
On the other hand Dr. Kakali Bandhyopadhay, Head of the Department of Food Technology has received the prestigious “DR. S RADHAKRISHNAN BHARAT SHIKSHA AWARDS 2021”, under the category of ‘Teaching and Learning’, on 5th September, 2021. She has secured 1st Position among the 3 selected awardees from all over India. Dr. S Radhakrishnan Bharat Shiksha Awards 2021 recognized her outstanding contribution in the field of Indian Education by institutions.
