Every year, millions of individuals get affected and die of the killer disease – Cancer, at times due to late treatment and at times due to non – awareness about the symptoms and early warning signs. In India also, the rise of the disease is alarming and slowly but steadily it is gripping our society with its deadly claws.
Kolkata Breast Health and Welfare Association is an educational and inspirational non – profit organization which fulfil the needs and desires of the patients and survivors. The mission of this association is to create awareness in the community by providing easy access to the information about the disease and to offer the effected an enhanced quality of treatment and an improved quality of life for the survivor, family and friends. Formed and guided by some extremely reputed oncologists with a vision for a painless world,Kolkata Breast Health and Welfare Association has been relentless to fight the peril. Apart from regular conferences, awareness programs; Kolkata Breast Health and Welfare Association also indulges itself to celebrate this Survivorship Day every year to inspire and motivate the society.
In the context of the above and in order to spread the awareness about this ailment, KOLKATA BREAST HEALTH AND WELFARE ASSOCIATION met on 3rd March, 2018 at6 PM at Victoria 2 Banquet, Hotel Radisson Green, Garcha Lane, Kolkata and spent some time with the champions who won over their battle against the perilous malady and celebrate the crusade against Cancer. The evening witnessed the screening of the film “ARO ARO DAO PRAN” directed by Ms. Satarupa Sanyal and produced by KBHWA on Cancer Survivorship. The film is based on a true story of a Breast and Ovarian Cancer survivor who has enacted and portrayed herself in the movie. The movie was also inaugurated by her on stage. This was followed by the champions walking the ramp with few popular faces of the city like Alokananda Roy, Sharbari Dutta, Chaitali Dasgupta, Paroma Banerjee, Esha Saha, Imon Chakraborty, Sreemoyee Piu Kundu, Satarupa Sanyal, Shibaprasad Mukhopadhyay, Satrajit Sen, Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee, Ratul Shankar and Noor along with choreography sequences by Arnab Bandyopadhyay and Rubena Chatterjee added zeal to the ramp. The entire show was formatted and designed by reputed fashion designer Abhishek Roy. The celebration was crowned off with the performance of the reputed vocalist Prabir Das.
