Dil Se- Spreading Happiness is a multi-designer boutique sprawled over an area of 3000 sq.ft opened today at Lake Road in the glamorous presence of renowned model turned high school Principal Mrs. Jessica Gomes Surana and Mrs. Alka Dalmia, one of the Founding Members of Dil Se. The non-profit boutique has taken the onus to help the underprivileged by housing donated designer outfits from all over the country which are sold at economical prices, the proceeds for which are utilised for the welfare of the underprivileged. The designer outfits and accessories includes contributions from renowned designers like Santanu Goenka, Anjali and Arjun Kapoor, Tarun Tehlani, Rashi Kapoor, Sayantan Sarkar to name a few.
Mrs. Alka Dalmia, commented, “It feels great to see smile on someone’s face who are deprived of basic needs. We, at Dil Se try to extend happiness with the help of designers and donors who donates new or like new clothes and accessories to us which we then refresh and sell at a very reasonable price at our store and put our 95% sale proceeds for various charitable acts that can bring happiness to underprivileged. We believe, in coming future many more hands will join and we will be able to bring happiness to many more faces. In 2017, we opened our first boutique at Khidderpore, near Goenka Mandir which was of 1500 sq. ft. Now with the increasing contributions from designers and donors all over India, we required a bigger space for which we shifted to new premises at Lake Road which is double the size from the first one, i.e 3000 sq. ft. The store has 3 sections – The Bridal Room, the Safire room for Men & the Ruby Room for Girls. The best part of this boutique is we customize the clothes and give huge discounts to meet the requirements as per customer’s pocket. We want to give a good experience and happiness to everyone who comes to us.”
Many a times it happens that we buy a cloth and we wore it for 1, 2 or very few times after which we couldn’t decide what to do with the cloth which is almost kind of new but is not suitable to be given to maids. Thus, Dil Se is a place for those who can donate their clothes which can also help the underprivileged in some way.
“We can’t always help people monetarily but like foreign countries we can undoubtedly adopt the Second concept where people give away their outfits and accessories for bigger cause.” added Mrs. Alka.
The grand opening witnessed presence of many esteemed personalities and few underprivileged children who showcased the collection of the store.
During the occasion of the grand opening of the Lake Road Multi-designer boutique, Dil Se took the opportunity to donate Rs. 2 lakhs to NGO Aapne Aap (Self-Action in Hindi) founded 15 years ago by journalist Ruchira Gupta and twenty-two prostituted women with the dream of a world where no woman could be bought or sold and has touched over 22,000 lives in Bihar, Delhi and West Bengal, put 74 traffickers in jail and played a key role in the passage of India’s first anti-trafficking law – Section 370 I.P.C.
