Manipal Hospitals, the second largest health-care provider in the country organized a health check camp in collaboration with the West Bengal Forest Development Corporation Limited (WBFDCL) on the occasion of World Diabetes Day. The camp was held between 5.30 AM -9.00 AM at Central Park, Salt Lake, Kolkata. The camp witnessed around 150 morning walkers within all the age groups who were provided with valuable information on diabetes management.
The camp included complete blood sugar testing, which provided the participants with useful information about their metabolic health, the criterion to maintain metabolic health and how to boost overall metabolism. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), nearly 10 crore people in the country are diabetic. It is therefore imperative to initiate immediate steps to prevent diabetes, hence this effort by the Manipal Hospital has demonstrated its commitment to community health and promoting diabetes prevention and management awareness.
The expert team of skilled and trained dieticians from Manipal Hospital provided valuable and personalized advise on maintaining a balanced and diabetes-friendly diet. The participants were provided with consultation and diet chart were also handed over for a comprehensive understanding.
