Debating is a stylized form of expression that is gradually fading away from our educational institutions, with the image of the debater being tarnished by political frivolity in the guise of parliamentary democracy. Yet, debates are great fun, both for participants.
With an aim to resurrecting debating as a focused means of communication with the sole objective of making one’s point and also with the intention of popularizing this special skill, two doctors, Kunal Sarkar and Sandip Chatterjee, along with a historian-journalist, Pradeep Gooptu, launched the Calcutta Debating Circle in 2011. CDC organizes and supports debates across the city and the region round the year.
Calcutta Debating Circle organized “Student Confluence 2017″ at Victoria Memorial Hall (Eastern Quadrangle).
