Glaamour School of Fashion & Interiors(GFI) completed yet another spectacular Annual Fashion show – Chroma 2018 that oozed of style and drama with no less than three Tollywood divas Priyanka Sarkar and Poulomi Das setting the ramp on fire with dresses made by the top three passing out students.
It was an evening to remember as the cast of Kaya- the mystery unfolds came in as special guests for the show. While the students dished out their collections that were both gorgeous and next gen, the showstoppers wore it with elan and grace.
CHROMA 2018 showcased the rich textile and craft heritage of India. Fabrics like Banarasi silk brocade, Cotton kota, Assam paat silk, Lucknow chikankari, Tussar silk, Cotton ikkat had been used. A variety of silhouettes for instance circular skirts, palazzos, gowns, A-line dresses, variation of corsets, straight pants, jackets etc are there. Natural dyeing had been done using turmeric, hibiscus, tea leaves etc in one of the collection with block prints. Batik roses had been used in gowns.
Inspirations for the sequences have been chosen from Indian Air Force, Basketry, Life cycle of a butterfly, Sufi, Thangka paintings etc. The students graduating this year were Md Ismail, Sanam Khatun, Negha Soni, Priyanka Pandey, Soni Sharma, Kirti Jain, Rukhsar Yashin, Kanchan Chauhan, Vikramjeet Chatterjee and Vaishali Agarwal.

This is one of the most well organised fashion shows I have seen. And this coming from the passing out students speaks volumes about their talent and professionalism,” said Priyanka, who looked resplendent in her avatar as a showstopper.

While Anindya, of Sohor Band fame, mesmerised the crowd with an impromptu unplugged session of songs from Kaya of which he is the music director, Rajib Chowdhury, Director of the movie, said: “We felt the warmth showered by Glaamour. It has been a great show. I want to congratulate the students for their phenomenal effort.”
Every year a graduation programme is held named ‘Çhroma’. Chroma, the Greek word for colorfulness, is a celebration of the intensity of colors, a perceived strength of a surface color.
